News About Joint Cargo Committee

As of Fall 2004, the Joint Cargo Committee have replaced the London War Risk Rating Committee's Schedules with a listing of specific geographical areas where it is felt that there could be enhanced risk associated with war and strikes coverage for goods in transit and/or storage and/or other static exposures.

Regions noted within the JCC Global Cargo Watch List (GCWL) as Elevated, High or Severe are "Held Covered" in accordance with the applicable war and/or strikes risks clauses contained in most Cargo Policies, and are subject to rates to be agreed (there is no longer a schedule of rates and it is up to each underwriter to agree applicable additional risk rates).
