China Insurance Brokers and Adjusters Industry Trends

In line with the development of China's insurance sector, the Insurance Brokers and Adjusters industry has grown rapidly over the past five years. Revenue for the industry was expected increase by an annualized 12.5% over the five years through 2012, reaching $18.0 billion.

Industry entry barriers for professional intermediaries have increased over the past five years.

In 2009, three new regulatory rules on professional agencies, insurance brokerages and insurance assessment institutions were released by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission. According to the new rules, registered capital for professional intermediaries was increased significantly.
